This role is within the growth marketing team, which is tasked with scaling user acquisition, performance marketing, and customer engagement to accelerate Spruce's market presence and product adoption at scale. Our remote team is flexible but expected working hours are Mon–Fri, 9 am–5 pm CDT

As Growth Marketing Manager, you will take full ownership of Spruce’s customer messaging and user acquisition strategy, driving growth across multiple channels. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Developing and optimizing lifecycle and email marketing campaigns through Braze or similar marketing automation platforms, including campaign creation, audience segmentation, triggered workflows, and A/B testing.
• Overseeing the planning, execution, and performance management of paid advertising campaigns on platforms such as Meta (Facebook/Instagram), Google Ads, and TikTok, working closely with external agencies and freelancers to expand reach and efficiency.
• Managing and expanding Spruce’s organic social media presence by leading content strategy, planning editorial calendars, and increasing audience engagement across channels.
• Building and maintaining comprehensive cross-channel campaign calendars that effectively drive user acquisition, activation, and retention metrics throughout the customer funnel.
• Leveraging data analytics and user behavior insights from tools like Mixpanel, Looker, and Google Analytics to identify growth opportunities and implement data-informed optimizations.
• Collaborating with internal teams including product, design, and operations to ensure alignment, message consistency, and seamless user experiences across all customer touchpoints.
• Partnering with company leadership to develop and implement strategic growth initiatives that positively impact core business metrics and overall company success.

We seek a seasoned growth marketing professional with at least five years of hands-on experience leading growth, lifecycle, or performance marketing efforts. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of delivering measurable results in fast-paced, startup environments.

• Strong expertise using Braze or a comparable customer engagement and marketing automation platform, with deep understanding of lifecycle campaign architecture and user segmentation.
• Experience managing paid media campaigns, both directly within platforms and through partnerships with agencies or freelance specialists.
• Knowledge of organic social media best practices and content strategies tailored to increase brand awareness and user engagement.
• A highly data-driven mindset, comfortable working with analytics platforms such as Mixpanel, Looker, or Google Analytics to derive actionable insights and inform marketing decisions.
• Excellent strategic thinking combined with executional expertise, enabling you to take ownership of growth projects end-to-end in a fast-moving startup setting.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to work cross-functionally with creative, product, engineering, and leadership teams.

• Braze certification or advanced proficiency with Braze's Canvas multi-step campaign builder.
• Background working in startup or marketplace environments with rapid growth trajectories.
• Experience executing integrated multi-channel growth strategies that include email, paid advertising, social media, SMS, and in-app messaging.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively across creative, product, and engineering teams to build cohesive growth initiatives.
