In this engagement, our client seeks a QA Automation Engineer to join the client’s ecommerce applications team. You will focus on testing efforts for full stack web and mobile applications, supporting and enhancing the automation environment, and coordinating testing activities within an Agile framework. The role emphasizes API testing, automation framework improvements, and ensuring robust quality across web and mobile experiences. Collaboration across cross-functional teams will be key to delivering reliable automation coverage and process improvements in a fast-paced, distributed environment.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for web and mobile applications, focusing on API and UI layers using TypeScript.
  • Enhance and refactor the existing automation framework to support new functionality and improve test stability and performance.
  • Collaborate with the Agile team to plan, design, and execute automated tests aligned with product goals and release schedules.
  • Identify, document, and track defects related to API and frontend testing; work with developers to reproduce and resolve issues quickly.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Git/GitLab) and ensure reliable test execution in the build process.
  • Coordinate testing activities across sprints, maintain test data, and provide clear test status updates to stakeholders.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of testing best practices, contribute to process improvements, and mentor junior teammates as needed.

What you’ll bring

We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer with 5+ years of hands-on experience in QA automation or SDET roles. You should have strong TypeScript expertise for automation and be proficient in API automation (not using Postman/Newman). Experience with Jira and Git/GitLab in CI/CD contexts is essential. Familiarity with Playwright, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and mobile testing (Appium) is highly valued. Linux skills and Python ability are considered a plus. You will work remotely as part of the client’s ecommerce applications team, testing full stack web and mobile applications, supporting and expanding the automation environment, and driving process improvements through automation. Strong collaboration, analytical thinking, and a proactive approach to defect management and quality improvements are essential.

Pluses include Linux proficiency, Python scripting, and Appium experience for mobile automation.
