The Mission: Defending Liberty
The United States justice system is founded on the unique and powerful principle that every individual accused of a crime is entitled to robust protections, including the presumption of innocence and the right to a competent defense. Public Defenders are the essential safeguards of this system, ensuring that liberty is not contingent on wealth. At Kodify LLC, we build ZLS.app—the mission-critical case management system infrastructure that empowers these defenders across 12 US states. We don’t just manage data; we provide the technological backbone that allows attorneys to uphold constitutional promises. We are looking for a high-stakes Project Manager based in Latin America to lead large-scale enterprise migrations for US County governments, ensuring that the systems safeguarding human liberty operate with the zero-fail reliability our clients and their constituents deserve.

Applications: getonbrd.com.

The Role

This is a full-time, 12-month independent contractor position (including a 3-month initial trial period), with the intent and potential for long-term extension beyond the first year. You will report directly to the Co-Founders and serve as the operational linchpin between our US government clients and our international development team.

Core Responsibilities

Enterprise Migrations: Work closely with Co-Founders to facilitate the end-to-end lifecycle of moving sensitive government data from fragmented legacy systems into ZLS.app.

Government Discovery: Participate in Business Process Reviews (BPRs) and knowledge transfer sessions with County IT Directors, Chief Public Defenders, line public defenders, and administrative staff.

Cross-Global Coordination: Bridge the gap between our US clients and our international dev team using GitHub Projects (Cards) and Microsoft Teams.

Asynchronous Mastery: Drive progress through high-quality Google Vids and clear documentation in Google Workspace, minimizing the need for synchronous meetings.

Requirements

Nearshore Availability: Must work US Central Time hours (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CT) with the inherent flexibility to accommodate scheduled meetings across all US time zones (Eastern to Pacific) during their respective business hours.

Experience: 3+ years in Technical PM roles, specifically managing complex software implementations or data migrations preferred.

Technical Stack: Mastery of GitHub (Projects/Issues), Google Workspace, Microsoft Teams, and HubSpot.

English Mastery: Exceptional written and verbal English. You must be able to lead meetings with US Government attorneys and IT Directors.

Security Mindset: Demonstrated experience in highly regulated data environments and an understanding of data integrity protocols.

Fit Confirmation

Provide a link to a 2-minute Google Vid (or Loom). Introduce yourself and explain one specific "Extreme Ownership" moment where you managed a high-pressure client implementation or caught a major data error before a client saw it.

We use GitHub Cards for all dev tasks. Briefly describe the three most important pieces of information you include in a ticket to ensure a developer in a different time zone has zero ambiguity.

The Mission Alignment: In your own words, why is data accuracy critical for a Public Defender’s office specifically?

Confirm you are comfortable with the 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CT base schedule and have the logistical flexibility to support meetings across all US time zones as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Direct experience working with government clients, court systems, or attorneys.
Experience with SQL or data mapping for complex enterprise software transitions.
Previous experience in a "lean-and-mean" startup environment where Extreme Ownership is the default.

Compensation & Terms

Term: 12-month initial contract with potential for long-term extension (Initial 3-month trial).
Rate: Competitive hourly rate based on enterprise experience ($20–$35 USD/hr).
Location: Remote (Latin America).
