Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Java-based backend services and REST APIs for the Chargebacks team.
- Enhance alerting capabilities and backend support for configurable notifications.
- Partner on technology enablers including database upgrades, integration, and scaling strategies, as well as containerized service deployment.
- Participate in release cycles, feature iteration, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical leadership through code reviews and mentoring, and actively contribute technical perspective in requirements and planning discussions.
- Operate effectively across concurrent initiatives and shifting priorities without loss of quality or velocity.
- 7+ years of professional software development experience with a strong Java backend focus, including Spring Boot and SQL
- Experience building scalable, high-availability SaaS platforms
- Strong REST API design and service-oriented or microservices architecture experience
- Expertise with relational databases; PostgreSQL and/or Oracle experience preferred
- Familiarity with containerized deployment environments (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Experience with complex workflows and decisioning systems
- Proficient in leveraging Claude Code and other AI-assisted development tools to deliver high-quality software at velocity
- Comfortable operating in high-velocity, fast-changing environments
- Agile/Scrum experience and strong collaboration skills
