Tu misión

Buscamos a un/a ingeniero/a de software fullstack con harta experiencia, para:

• Entender el onboarding de punta a punta. Qué rol cumple cada paso, por qué existe, quién es su usuario, qué producto lo necesita y qué pasa cuando falla. Hoy ese mapa completo no vive en la cabeza de nadie.
• Mejorar la experiencia de hoy desde el primer mes. Antes de que exista una sola línea de código de la reescritura ya hay mucho por ganar: ver dónde se traba la gente, atacar los pasos que más fricción generan y liberar mejoras sobre el proceso que ya está andando.
• Diseñar y liderar la reescritura. Proponer la arquitectura del onboarding definitivo: pasos como piezas componibles, con sus actores, precondiciones, estados y vigencia explícitos, en vez de pantallas encadenadas. Que sea mantenible, evolucionable y que minimice errores por construcción.
• Decidir qué se reutiliza entre productos. Si alguien ya completó un paso para contratar un producto, ¿se lo volvemos a pedir para el siguiente? Reutilizar baja la fricción; repetir sostiene la cobertura de riesgo. Esa discusión se lleva con Riesgo y con Producto: no la define ingeniería sola.
• Construir para el Maxxa internacional. Esta reescritura es la versión que se lleva a los otros países. Los conceptos se repiten —identidad, cobro automático, firma, garantías— pero el proveedor y la regulación cambian en cada mercado.
• Coordinar sin mandar. Buena parte de los servicios que el onboarding orquesta los construyen otros equipos de Tecnología. No los diriges: los alineas, con una visión global de lo que tu producto tiene que lograr y con un estándar alto de lo que aceptas.

The Role: Own Your Area End-to-End

• Diagnóstico de performance e incidentes. Leer señales de la aplicación —observabilidad, trazas, métricas— y concluir qué dicen del software. La base de datos es un caso concreto: leer el plan de ejecución en vez de adivinarlo, índices, escaneos de tabla.

Funciones del cargo

Tomar cualquier tarea técnica del producto, de punta a punta. React en el front de cara al cliente, .NET en el backend y Python en los servicios que ese backend consume. No entras a cubrir un hueco de tecnología: entras para que el squad pueda avanzar en los tres frentes a la vez, sin mayor acompañamiento.

Mandar a producción rápido para aprender del uso real. Valoramos llegar a tiempo al mercado, así que muchas decisiones se toman sabiendo que dejan deuda. Cada sprint reserva un espacio que planifica el propio equipo para robustecer lo que ya se validó como core: distinguir qué deuda se paga y cuál se deja viva es parte del rol.

Desarrollar con agentes y con contención. Vamos hacia un enfoque agéntico antes que de supervisión humana, y eso se sostiene con tests y restricciones alrededor de lo que hace el agente, no con fe.

Compartir el objetivo de negocio. El norte es el mismo para todo el squad: quienes vienen del lado de producto y quienes vienen del lado técnico persiguen el mismo resultado. Entiendes la tesis de negocio detrás de un requerimiento antes de implementarlo, y descartas rápido lo que no funciona.

Construir para el Maxxa que viene. Ya operamos en México y estamos evaluando el próximo país. El segmento al que apunta este producto —la empresa chica, la que nadie financia— es el mismo en toda la región, y lo que validemos acá es lo que se lleva.

Sostener el estándar sin autoridad formal. El producto se apoya en servicios que construyen otros equipos de Tecnología. No los diriges: los alineas, con criterio propio sobre qué aceptas recibir.

Cómo se ve que vas bien. Tomas tareas de complejidad creciente sin acompañamiento, los flujos que tocas quedan con su cobertura de tests y empiezas a proponer qué se robustece. Eso es lo que miramos, y se conversa contigo desde el primer día.

Exceptional Backend Engineering & Architectural Judgment — 8+ years of professional backend engineering experience at a Senior/Staff/Principal/Architect level, with exceptional hands-on development capability and significant production Java experience. Experience with Spring Boot, Spring Security and Hibernate/JPA strongly preferred.

Deep Relational Data Architecture Expertise — Proven ownership of complex production relational data models at real scale.

Strong System Design & API Architecture Capability — Demonstrated ability to design sophisticated production systems and REST APIs, understand distributed-system tradeoffs, with real experience improving an already-established codebase, not only building greenfield. Strong PostgreSQL experience (Cocoon currently uses Aurora PostgreSQL).

AI-Native Engineering Capability— Demonstrated ability to use modern AI-assisted development tools to materially improve engineering productivity and quality, while applying the technical judgment needed to critically evaluate AI-generated work.

Production Engineering Discipline — Strong understanding of application security, automated testing, observability, reliability, performance and maintainability. Builds systems designed to operate reliably in production, not simply function in development.

Technical Leadership & Independent Judgment — Experience directing senior engineers and serving as a trusted technical authority. Comfortable making consequential decisions with incomplete information, surfacing risks early, challenging assumptions, and recommending a clear path forward.

Production Applied-AI Experience (Highly Preferred) — Meaningful hands-on experience implementing and operating production AI, LLM, agentic, multimodal, or computer-vision capabilities, including architecture, evaluation, retrieval, reliability, and production operations

Core Responsibilities

Technical Architecture & Leadership

• Serve as Cocoon's primary internal authority on backend architecture, data architecture, system design and engineering quality.
• Own technical architecture and engineering decisions.
• Spearhead Cocoon's efforts to integrate AI-driven capabilities into its products, platform and engineering workflows.

Hands-On Backend Engineering

• Remain deeply hands-on in Cocoon's codebase and personally develop production software.
• Enter an established codebase, understand it quickly and determine what should be retained, refactored or replaced.
• Help shape product ideas and requirements alongside Cocoon team members before specifications are finalized.

Data Architecture

• Lead evolution of Cocoon's existing data architecture into a sophisticated relational domain model.
• Define schemas, relationships, data-access patterns and integrity standards.
• Develop safe migration strategies for evolving an active production database.
• Account for both structured and unstructured information as Cocoon's AI capabilities expand.
• Build a data foundation capable of supporting substantially greater intelligence, automation and scale over time.

AI-Native Engineering

Infrastructure & DevOps Oversight

What you'll do

You will lead the ownership of the Contentful content model and space architecture, establishing the best practices our team follows.

• Lead multi-space consolidation: merge separate Contentful spaces into a clean, maintainable structure without disrupting live sites.
• Plan, oversee, and support content migrations that run safely and are repeatable.
• Design authoring templates so marketers can create and publish content independently, without engineering help.
• Act as the main technical contact with the client’s engineering, marketing, and product teams.
• Guide and support other engineers on the project through technical decisions and day-to-day collaboration.
