How to get paid in dollars in Peru

In Peru it's common to hold a USD account at your bank (BCP, Interbank, BBVA), so you can receive international transfers (SWIFT) without converting to soles. Payoneer and Wise work too: Wise gives you US account details so a company can pay you like a local vendor. PayPal can receive, but withdrawal fees are high.

  • USD account at BCP, Interbank or BBVA: receives SWIFT transfers.
  • Wise: USD account with US details, handy when the company only pays by ACH.
  • Payoneer: receives payments from companies, Deel and marketplaces.
  • Deel, Ontop and similar: pay to Payoneer, Wise or your bank.

Taxes in Peru

Taxes are run by SUNAT. The usual path is to get a RUC and issue electronic fee receipts (recibos por honorarios, fourth-category income) for what you bill abroad. Ask an accountant about the yearly return and whether billing as a company suits you.

Tips

  • You're on GMT-5 all year, the same as US Eastern in winter: you share almost the whole workday.
  • Most LATAM jobs accept Peru without fuss: filter for the ones that say LATAM or anywhere.

Compare what each platform leaves you with the payment fees calculator and check every offer with the red flag detector.
