Role Summary

North Star Network are looking for a site coordinator to oversee the daily editorial and operational performance of Chilean sports site Al Aire Libre, ensuring high-quality, timely, and audience-focused content across the site.

Reporting to the Head of Media, this role is responsible for coordinating local editorial operations, managing contributors, monitoring content performance, and ensuring that editorial output aligns with the company's overall strategy, SEO objectives, and quality standards.

The Site Coordinator serves as the bridge between the central media department and the Chilean editorial team, maintaining high editorial standards while ensuring local relevance through a strong understanding of the domestic football landscape.

This role requires excellent organizational and people management skills, sound editorial judgement, effective communication, and a data-driven mindset.

Key Responsibilities

1. Editorial Coordination & Planning

  • Manage the day-to-day editorial calendar of Al Aire Libre.
  • Align local editorial planning with central media strategy, audience objectives, and traffic targets.
  • Ensure content reflects the site's editorial identity while maintaining a strong focus on Chilean football and topics relevant to the local audience.
  • Coordinate assignments with Writers, Editors, SEO, Tipsters and Social Media teams to maintain an efficient publishing workflow.
  • Greater integration of value-adding AI-led/assisted content into editorial workflow.
  • Identify key sports news stories, evergreen opportunities, and priority pages requiring regular updates based on editorial value, audience demand, and SEO performance.
  • Ensure content planning balances breaking news, analysis, features, evergreen, and search-driven content.

2. Workflow & Team Management

  • Supervise the day-to-day workflow of local editorial contributors and freelance writers.
  • Distribute assignments, monitor deadlines, and ensure all content meets editorial and publishing standards.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the Chilean editorial team, providing guidance, feedback, coaching, and performance follow-up.
  • Identify staffing or resource requirements.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of new editorial contributors where required.
  • Serve as the primary communication link between the Chilean editorial team and headquarters.

3. Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor key performance indicators including traffic, engagement, search visibility, rankings, and publishing output.
  • Use tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and Looker Studio to evaluate editorial performance.
  • Collaborate with Media Data Analyst to produce regular reports highlighting successes, opportunities, and recommended improvements.

4. Quality Control & SEO

  • Ensure all published content meets editorial, SEO, Anti-Spam and compliance standards.
  • Review articles for accuracy, clarity, readability, consistency, and adherence to editorial guidelines.
  • Ensure writers apply SEO best practices, including headline writing, metadata, internal linking, keyword optimisation, and content structure.
  • Coordinate with the Head of Social Media to maximise distribution and visibility of priority content.
  • Maintain publishing standards, templates, formatting consistency, and internal workflows.

Candidate Profile

  • Native-level Spanish speaker with excellent written and editorial skills.
  • Working proficiency in English, enabling effective communication with international teams.
  • Excellent knowledge of Chilean football, including the domestic leagues, clubs, players, and football media landscape.
  • Previous experience coordinating editorial teams or managing digital content operations.
  • Strong understanding of digital publishing workflows and editorial planning.
  • Solid understanding of SEO fundamentals and best practices for editorial content.
  • Comfortable with data, and experience using analytics platforms such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, or Looker Studio.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced sports news environment.

Out of Scope / Role Boundaries

The Site Coordinator is responsible for editorial coordination, operational management, and content performance for the Chilean site.

The role does not include:

  • Defining global editorial or media strategy.
  • Ownership of overall SEO strategy beyond implementation and coordination.
  • Commercial, advertising, or partnership negotiations.
  • Commercial decision-making, although some collaboration with NSN business teams will be required
