design content writing

You're the one people trust with the words, whether you're writing them or fixing them. You noticed that you loved it, and that you were unusually good at it. You turn rough, complex ideas into words people understand.

Now you get the opportunity to work with some of the most respected designers alive, and help share their knowledge with hundreds of thousands of learners around the world.

A great hook pulls your readers in, makes them see themselves in the topic, and shows them why it matters in their lives. That's your craft. Abstract ideas don't stay abstract for long, because you find the example that makes an idea concrete. You're structured and systematic, yet creative, and you'll rewrite a sentence six times until it says exactly what you mean.

You see the fear around AI, and you understand where it comes from. But you also see the opportunities, and you want to show people how to work with AI in a way that benefits their lives, their users, and the world.

If you're also curious about how great design and the responsible use of AI improve people's lives, read on. As one of our Course Writers and Editors, you'll shape how our courses and Master Classes read and flow.

The industry leaders whose expertise you'll be turning into courses and Master Classes include Don Norman and Vitaly Friedman, as well as Design Leads at Netflix, LinkedIn, Meta, and Adobe.

You’ll be involved in all stages of course and Master Class creation, including key decisions, so there are incredible opportunities for you to take initiative, make meaningful contributions, and grow. Forget political struggles or long, pointless debates. You’ll be in a team with minimal distance between word and action, where decisions are made ultra-fast.

Join the Global Leader in Online Design and AI Education

IxDF is the world's largest online design and AI education platform, with over 1,150,000 enrollments since 2002. We hold the trust of industry giants like Adobe, NASA, and IBM, who rely on our courses to train their teams. Prestigious universities, including MIT and the University of Cambridge, integrate our material into their curricula. Help us take online education to new heights and make a meaningful impact on humankind.

At IxDF, we’re not just a company but a movement dedicated to making high-quality design and AI education accessible to everyone, everywhere.

We've pioneered online design education since 2002. We have over 1,150,000 enrollments and 1,583 company members, with more than 40 courses, 160 Master Classes, and thousands of open-source design resources, created by our team in collaboration with 240 industry leaders.

With learners from over 100 countries, your work will empower people worldwide.

We're Hiring Three People for Our Editorial Team

We're growing, and three roles are open at the same time to build the next generation of our core educational product. Here's what each role leads on:

  • Our Course Writers and Editors: lead how our courses and articles read. You make each title engaging, ensure each sentence flows, and edit the written course experience from the user’s perspective. This is the role described here.

  • Our Education Designers, UX, UI, and AI: lead how design and AI are taught. You plan, structure, and create the core content, and you decide what a course participant should be able to do by the end and how they get there.

  • Our Course Directors, UX, UI, and AI: lead what we teach and who teaches our courses and Master Classes. You reach out to industry leaders and create the invitation they say yes to. You bring your judgment to a planned course outline: what's missing, what doesn't belong, and whether the structure is solid. You plan and shoot courses with our Education Designers.

We’re a flexible team, and you’ll be able to do what you excel in. Everyone on our team creates courses, and everyone works across these roles. If you're torn between two roles, apply for the one you'd be best at, and tell us in your application which other one you considered and why.

You, the Course Writer and Editor, own how our courses and Master Classes read: the scripts, hooks, headings, on-screen text in videos, quiz wording, and editorial voice across everything we publish. Our Education Designers hand you the structure and the exercises, and they'll often hand you draft headings and hooks along with them. The final wording is yours. You'll work closely with our Co-Founder, your Team Lead, the Education Designers, and the Course Directors, and you'll have a real say in what we make. You'll also work closely with the video team and our growth team.

Your Role at IxDF

  • Be a core part of our Editorial Team. You'll collaborate with IxDF editors, video editors, and UX and UI designers as well as external industry leaders to create educational content for people worldwide. You'll help them succeed in the age of AI with skills in timeless, human-centered design and AI.

  • Make an impact as you decide how every course sounds. The title people want to click, the first paragraph that hooks them, the on-screen words that make our learners remember and apply what our experts teach. Our Education Designers create the structure and draft the headings, hooks, and quizzes. You finalize the scripts, hooks, headings, quiz wording, and editorial voice across everything we publish, and you give proactive feedback on the structure.

  • You don't need a design background. Most of our writers and editors start without one, and that can be an advantage because you're coming to design the way many of our learners do. In your first year you'll learn it from the inside, working through it sentence by sentence with the people who teach it, until you know what a course participant needs.

  • Write for a diverse, global audience. Some of our courses and Master Classes serve experienced designers who want to grow into more senior work. Others serve people moving into design from other fields, and many are not reading in their first language. Often, you'll write for all of them at the same time. Getting that balance right without watering anything down is a rewarding editorial challenge.

  • Be the voice of IxDF. Our reputation lives in every sentence we publish, and many of those sentences will be yours. Represent a global movement dedicated to design education, and take pride in it. It's a big responsibility, and a rewarding one.

  • Set and raise the standard for our assessments, so a correct answer proves understanding, not just recognition, and a good question teaches as well as tests. Our Education Designers decide what a question has to test. You write the wording that does both.

  • Balance the big picture with the smaller details. Expect to focus on one large course creation project per month, alongside small, continuous improvements to what's already published. You'll also write and edit articles, course descriptions, and supporting material, and help our Growth team and our two founders get the voice right in campaigns and social copy.

  • Turn expert material into lessons. Once you've built an understanding of design, you'll take a one-hour Master Class transcript and the learning goals for what the lesson must teach, then turn the strongest sections into a finished lesson. We produce 3 Master Classes per month, so new expert material arrives continuously.

  • Our courses combine written and video lessons. You'll work closely with the video team, giving constructive feedback on on-screen text, b-roll, graphics, and animation, and telling them which takeaways need a visual, so each video is more engaging to learn from.

  • Find room for improvement by looking at completion rates, learner feedback, and the portfolios learners produce, then go back and fix what isn't excellent yet. Small, incremental edits are why our material surpasses even the very best in industry and academia. We're always learning, always improving, always raising the bar in everything we do.

  • We’re committed to excellence, and we seek a like-minded enthusiast to join us. This role is not for the average. Ahead of you is a highly rewarding and enriching journey.

  • Maintain and improve our crystal-clear documentation so our knowledge resources stay up-to-date, easy to find, and provide instant value to our internal teams. Clarity is key. Any line of documentation should be self-explanatory.

  • You won't do this alone. You'll work with our Education Designers, Course Directors, your Team Lead, and our Co-Founder to pressure-test the material: you'll add what's missing, delete what's redundant, and suggest how to improve the structure. You'll be working with people who have anything from 4 to 40 years of design experience, ready to share their knowledge. We'll also help you upskill so you can grow a designer's eye alongside your editor's ear. You'll work in a diverse, highly organized, result-driven environment where you'll develop personally and professionally.

  • We're proud to have assembled a remarkable team of unicorns who uplift, motivate, and push each other to excel daily. There's a seat open for someone who shares our passion for excellence. Could that be you?

Do You Share IxDF's Vision?

People don't just buy our courses; they invest in a better version of themselves and a career they truly love. That's why every course we create and every sentence we write must do more than just inform. It must reflect the high-quality research and hands-on skills we teach.

  • Show the dream outcome: Help people imagine a future of creative, meaningful work, fulfillment, and impact through a career in design and AI.

  • Strengthen belief in success: Build confidence through real stories, practical case studies, and hands-on templates.

  • Overcome barriers: Write in a way that's crystal clear, human, and motivating. Connect and lead the way.

You'll educate, inspire, energize, and support. Whether you write a course article or give editorial feedback on a video, you'll help designers thrive in the age of AI.

About You

  • You have at least 4 years of professional writing or editing experience.

  • What matters far more than the number is the quality of the work you can show us: a course, an article series, a set of scripts, documentation, a newsletter. We’re excited to hear what it was, why you wrote it the way you did, and how long it took you to create.

  • You're a master communicator with a sharp eye for detail and strong skills in language, tone, and flow.

  • You can take a complex idea and write it so a beginner gets it on the first read.

  • You know how to hook someone with a title and a first line, and you know the difference between a hook that's earned and a hook that's cheap.

  • You collaborate with AI in everything you do. You use AI to write, research, and create faster, and you know how to take human leadership, so the outcome is 100% yours and better than you could have created without AI.

  • You’re eager to help people build UX and UI skills because you know they’re more relevant than ever in the age of AI.

  • You can write for a career changer and for an experienced designer without losing either one.

  • You have an exceptional talent for creating structure, and you take pride in organizing processes and tasks in a way that's efficient and clear.

  • You're genuinely curious about UX and UI design, and you're motivated to learn how great design shapes experiences and solves problems.

  • You're genuinely curious about how AI is changing design work and design education, and you look for new ways to use it in your own work.

  • You're kind, and you have the social intelligence and empathy to engage well with very different kinds of people.

  • You're fluent in written and spoken English, your grammar is exact, and you understand the power of tone, brevity, and microcopy.

  • You take full ownership of your work and see it through. You move comfortably across ad hoc projects of varying complexity, and you stay consistent when the work turns repetitive.

  • You’re enthusiastic about learning by doing and are committed to putting in the effort to continuously improve your skills.

  • You spot problems before anyone else notices them, and when something goes off track you come back with a solution rather than a report.

  • You value teamwork, prioritize collaboration, and focus on collective goals and harmony in the workplace.

  • You work well with great responsibility and freedom inside a well-documented, structured system. Accuracy and attention to detail are key on an online learning platform, where every tag must be correct and every piece of text formatted to our upload system. It's in your nature to meticulously double-check that everything is in order.

  • You're self-motivated, and you love creative freedom, independent judgment, and the responsibility that comes with both.

  • You’re driven by the desire to make a positive impact in the world and to improve the lives of others.

  • You're located in a time zone between UTC+0 (London) and UTC+4 (Dubai), which covers Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Bonus Points

None of these are required, but each of them would make us even happier.

  • You've taught in classrooms or workshops, or you've created educational material.

  • You have your own blog or social media page where you create and share original content.

  • You’ve collaborated with video production teams.

  • You've written quiz or assessment questions.

  • You've worked with an LMS or an online learning platform.

  • You hold a bachelor's or master's degree in communications, journalism, literature, or a similar field.

What We Can Offer

  • A highly valued role: You'll shape our core product, our courses and Master Classes.

  • Reach and impact that are difficult to find anywhere else in this field. Your words will be read year after year, by hundreds of thousands of people who build better careers and design a better world for all of us. An education you can't buy: free access to every IxDF course and Master Class, and a job that requires you to study the work of the best designers alive in order to edit it. Most people pay for this. You'll be paid for it.

  • Access: the designers whose books you'd normally buy are the people whose words you'll be shaping, and in some cases the people you'll be in a studio with.

  • Studio shoots: once you know our courses well, usually after your first year, you'll be a real asset on a studio production, and you'll be welcome to join us when we meet our experts in professional studios around the world. Some of us love that part and go every time; others keep travel to a minimum. Both work for us. On average we shoot 4-6 new courses per year.

  • Autonomy: Nobody will ever hand you a template and tell you to fill it in. You decide how our courses read.

  • A global, purpose-driven team: Work remotely alongside passionate professionals from all over the world, united by a common mission to create the best possible design and AI education in the world and make it accessible for everyone.

  • Our co-founder and co-CEO, Rikke, will work closely with you. She and our other co-founder, Mads, built IxDF from nothing, with no investment capital, so we would stay free to make world-class design education affordable to everyone. She was the sole editor and video editor for many of our early years, so she's shaped our course planning, expert interviews, video shoots, and content editing from the inside. She's still hands-on in everything we do, and she still films educational videos herself, in places like the US, the North Pole, and Nepal.

  • A full-time position within a fully remote organization. Video-based collaboration with your colleagues from elsewhere on the planet, and we get together in person each year, on a team trip or a studio production.

  • Bi-weekly knowledge-sharing sessions and 4 meeting-free days weekly for focused work.

  • A work culture with no fluffy titles, political agendas, or corporate drama. Your colleagues value your warm character, your strong work ethic, and the results you deliver. If you embody old-school virtues of always striving to deliver results, learn and become better every day, you'll thrive at IxDF.

  • A daily mission to help impact, empower, and enrich the lives of millions of people by creating affordable high-end design education for everyone across the planet. It'll be yours too.

  • A company where the distance between idea and execution is minimal. We're a highly agile organization with zero bureaucracy or corporate politics – and with exceptional order and efficiency.

  • A company culture where passion meets high performance and excellence. To help us improve the world, and yourself in the process, you'll need grit, strong work ethic, long-term thinking, and self-discipline.

  • We thrive because we have a hands-on attitude and a bias towards action as opposed to fluff-filled, unrealistic strategies. You'll need crisp execution skills yourself and the ability to impress your colleagues with concrete results, just like they'll impress you.

  • If you want even more opportunities to show the world what you can do, you’re in luck! When you're willing to do the hard work of learning and growing, then you’ll find virtually limitless opportunities with us.

  • We built online design education before people believed in it. AI is now changing what designers do, and they carry a bigger responsibility than ever. You'll be at the forefront of teaching designers to work with AI and to design responsibly for it. You'll help set a direction that shapes both the designers we teach and the people who use what they build. Together, we'll design a better world.

You, the Education Designer, establish what a course participant should be able to do by the end of a course. You create the sequences, exercises, templates, and assessments. You'll work closely with our Co-Founder, your Team Lead, and the Course Directors, who lead on what we teach and who teaches it, and you'll have a real say in both. We all reach out to and collaborate with industry leaders in these processes. Once your course is ready, our Course Writers and Editors take it the last mile: the scripts, hooks, headings, on-screen text in videos, quiz wording, and editorial voice. You'll also work closely with the video team and our growth team.

Your Role at IxDF

  • Be a core part of our Editorial Team. You'll collaborate with IxDF editors, video editors, and UX and UI designers as well as external industry leaders to create courses and Master Classes for people worldwide. You'll help them succeed in the age of AI with new skills in AI and in timeless human-centered design.

  • Design for a diverse, global audience. Some of our courses and Master Classes serve working designers who want to grow into more senior work. Others serve people moving into design from other fields. Often, you'll teach both in the same lesson. Getting both right without watering either down is a rewarding design challenge.

  • Make an impact as you decide how the courses you lead come together. You establish what a course participant should be able to do by the end of a course, then you plan, structure, and create the core content that gets them there. What comes first, what builds on what, and how people level up step by step with ease and joy from confused to competent. You'll work across UX design, human-computer interaction, design thinking, UI design, psychology, and AI.

  • Design the exercises, portfolio activities, design templates, and assessments that turn passive watching into active designing. You write the exercises that make a course participant apply an idea to their own portfolio project, the templates that scaffold that work, and the assessments that reveal whether they understood and can apply it, or whether they just watched. You write the headings and hooks your structure calls for, and our Course Writers and Editors own the final wording. Every course should leave a participant with a portfolio case study they can show a hiring manager.

  • Set and raise the standard for our assessments, so a correct answer proves understanding, not just recognition, and a good question teaches as well as tests.

  • Make expert knowledge understandable. You take raw expert video material, course and Master Class transcripts and footage featuring global industry leaders, and turn it into educational material that teaches timeless human-centered design and AI.

  • You help produce Master Classes. We produce 3 per month. Over email, you reach out to designers whose work you admire, invite them to create one with us, plan the content, and produce the live session. Timelines vary enormously: with Don Norman or Vitaly Friedman it can be two weeks from first email to publication, because we work with them often. With a new expert, it can be half a year. Once the session is recorded, you get the footage and the transcript, and you decide with the Course Directors and Team Lead which existing course benefits from which snippets, and where they go.

  • You plan the course content in collaboration with the global industry leaders in design and then fly out to meet them in professional studios across the world. You'll shoot the course content there with some of your colleagues. Expect this a few times a year at minimum. Some of us love that part and join every studio production; others keep it to those few trips. Both work for us. On average we shoot 4-6 new courses per year.

  • Our courses combine written and video lessons. You'll work closely with the video team, giving constructive feedback on on-screen text, b-roll, graphics, and animation, and telling them which takeaways need a visual, so each video is more engaging to learn from and accurate from a design perspective. You'll also work closely with our growth team.

  • Balance the big picture with the smaller details. Expect to focus on one large course creation project per quarter, alongside small, continuous improvements to what's already published.

  • Find room for improvement by looking at completion rates, learner feedback, and the portfolios course participants produce, then go back and fix what isn't excellent yet. Use the power of incremental, modular design as you help push the quality of our educational materials to new heights, surpassing even the very best in industry and academia. We're always learning, always improving, always raising the bar in everything we do and ship.

  • Maintain and improve our crystal-clear documentation so our knowledge resources stay up-to-date, easy to find, and provide instant value to our internal teams. Clarity is key. Any line of documentation should be self-explanatory.

  • You won't do this alone. You'll work with our Course Directors, your Team Lead, and our Co-Founder to pressure-test the structure: what's missing, what doesn't belong, and whether it holds together. That kind of judgment takes twenty years to build, and this type of collaboration is one of the fastest ways to grow your own design skills. You'll work in a diverse, highly organized, result-driven environment where you'll grow personally and professionally.

  • We’re committed to excellence, and we seek a like-minded enthusiast to join us. This role is not for the average. Ahead of you is a highly rewarding and enriching journey.

  • We're proud to have assembled a remarkable team of unicorns who uplift, motivate, and push each other to excel daily. There's a seat open for someone who shares our passion for excellence. Could that be you?

About You

  • You have at least 5 years of hands-on design experience.

  • You've facilitated workshops repeatedly, run a beginner course, mentored designers, or built curricula for online courses.

  • You can show us something you built: a course, a workshop series, live Master Classes, an AI teaching app, or a mentoring program. We’re excited to hear what it was, why you built it the way you did, and how long it took you to create.

  • You can take a broad, complex design practice and turn it into a step-by-step learning sequence that’ll make a beginner feel and act confident.

  • You can teach the same idea in different formats: a 60-minute workshop, a written lesson, a 90-second video. You know what a medium does well and what it can't carry, and you know what to cut when the format gets shorter.

  • You're a practical idealist. You know how to create great results through incremental quick wins and MVPs, and you know when to go all in and make something perfect.

  • You collaborate with AI in everything you do. You use AI to research, structure, write, and create faster, and you know how to take human leadership, so the outcome is 100% yours and better than you could have created without AI.

  • You know the difference between timeless human-centered design skills and skills in tools that change. You’re passionate about the first, because they’re the most interesting to you and you know that AI will take over much of the tool-based design work soon. You’re eager to help people build UX and UI skills because you know they’re more relevant than ever in the age of AI.

  • You can teach a career changer the powerful skills of great design, and you can guide an experienced designer in upskilling to a more senior role.

  • You're genuinely curious about how AI is changing design work and design education.

  • You're kind, and you have the social intelligence and empathy to engage well with very different kinds of people.

  • You're fluent in written and spoken English and you can explain complex ideas clearly.

  • You’re enthusiastic about learning by doing and are committed to putting in the effort to continuously improve your skills.

  • You spot problems before anyone else notices them, and when something goes off track you come back with a solution rather than a report.

  • You value teamwork, prioritize collaboration, and focus on collective goals. You give constructive feedback that others can act on, and you take it the same way. When someone shows you how your idea could be better, you're interested rather than defensive.

  • You're self-motivated, and you love creative freedom, independent judgment, and the responsibility that comes with both.

  • You’re driven by the desire to make a positive impact in the world and to improve the lives of others.

  • Most of the work happens from your home office, but you're willing to travel a few times a year to shoot courses. You're located in a time zone between UTC-6 (Austin, Chicago) and UTC+8 (Singapore, Perth), which includes all of Europe.

Bonus Points

None of these are required, but each of them would make us even happier.

  • You've published educational material under your own name or spoken at design conferences.

  • You've worked with an LMS or an online learning platform.

  • You've built AI-supported learning: tutors, adaptive paths, automated feedback. Or you’ve used AI to build products.

  • You hold a bachelor's or master's in UX, UI, AI, or a similar field.

  • You have your own blog or social media page where you create and share original content.

  • You have collaborated with video production teams.

What We Can Offer

  • A highly valued role: You'll shape our core product, our courses and Master Classes.

  • Reach and impact that are difficult to find anywhere else in this field. A workshop facilitator might teach one hundred designers a year. Your design decisions will reach hundreds of thousands. They'll build better careers and design a better world for all of us.

  • Access: The experts you'd normally cite in a workshop are the people whose material you'll be shaping, whose Master Classes you'll produce, and in some cases the people you'll be in a studio with. Our name opens doors. An email from IxDF gets read, so the reach you have now is the floor, not the ceiling.

  • Autonomy: Nobody will ever hand you a template and tell you to fill it in. You decide how our courses teach.

  • A global, purpose-driven team: Work remotely alongside passionate professionals from all over the world, united by a common mission to create the best possible design and AI education in the world, and make it accessible for everyone.

  • Our co-founder and co-CEO, Rikke, will work closely with you. • A daily mission to help impact, empower, and enrich the lives of millions of people by creating affordable high-end design education for everyone across the planet. It'll be yours too.

  • Colleagues with four to forty years of experience, and a culture where we follow the best idea, not the longest résumé.

Course Director UX UI and AI
  • Interaction Design Foundation
  • Remote
education design content writing

You've been designing long enough to have watched tools become essential and then disappear. You know which design skills are timeless and which ones expire. The human-centered design skills are where your heart is, and you know that AI will take over much of the tool-based design work soon.

You see the fear around AI, and you understand where it comes from. But you also see the opportunities, and you want to show people how to work with AI in a way that benefits their lives, their users, and the world.

You can name the ten leading designers who should be teaching the world’s best courses and Master Classes right now. You know what each of them does better than anyone else, and where their gaps are.

Now you get the opportunity to decide what hundreds of thousands of designers learn next.

The industry leaders whose expertise you'll be turning into courses and Master Classes include Don Norman and Vitaly Friedman, as well as Design Leads at Netflix, LinkedIn, Meta, and Adobe. Don Norman also chairs our executive board.

You'll be involved in the entire process of creating our courses and Master Classes, and you'll lead many of the decisions, so there are incredible opportunities for you to take initiative, make meaningful contributions, and grow. Forget political struggles or long, pointless debates. You’ll be in a team with minimal distance between idea and action, where decisions are made ultra-fast.

  • Our Course Directors, UX, UI, and AI: lead what we teach and who teaches our courses and Master Classes. You reach out to industry leaders and create the invitation they say yes to. You bring your judgment to a planned course outline: what's missing, what doesn't belong, and whether the structure is solid. You plan and shoot courses with our Education Designers. This is the role described here.

  • Our Education Designers, UX, UI, and AI: lead how design and AI are taught. You plan, structure, and create the core content, and you decide what a course participant should be able to do by the end and how they get there.

  • Our Course Writers and Editors: lead how our courses and articles read. You make each title engaging, ensure each sentence flows, and edit the written course experience from the user’s perspective.

We're a flexible team, and you'll be able to do what you excel in. Everyone on our team creates courses, and everyone works across these roles. If you're torn between two roles, apply for the one you'd be best at, and tell us in your application which other one you considered and why.

You, the Course Director, decide what belongs in our curriculum and who should teach it. You reach out to the world’s leading experts, plan the courses with them, and shoot courses with them. When an Education Designer brings you a course outline, you're the one who says what's missing, what doesn't belong, and how to optimize the learning outcome so designers can succeed today. You'll work closely with our Co-Founder, your Team Lead, our other Course Directors, and the Education Designers, and you'll plan and create courses alongside them. Our Course Writers and Editors take the finished material the last mile: the scripts, hooks, headings, on-screen text in videos, quiz wording, and editorial voice.

  • You'll research what already exists in a topic area, so that what we build is genuinely unique. You'll look at where design and AI are heading, what designers need that nobody has taught well yet, and what we should retire because the field has already moved on.

  • Find the people who should teach it. You decide a topic is worth a course, you work out who should teach it and why, you write the email, and you get the yes. Then you plan the content with the industry leader and agree what the course must leave a learner able to do.

  • Decide what each expert should teach. The best designers know a great deal, and a course that tries to capture all of it becomes an information dump. You develop a point of view on what a designer genuinely needs from them, and you hold the course to it.

  • You'll decide which skills our courses teach, both to people entering design and to experienced designers leveling up. Our goal is to help designers thrive in the age of AI and work responsibly, so their users can thrive too.

  • Ensure our course participants finish each course with a solid portfolio project they can show a hiring manager.

  • Help us decide what AI should do for our course participants. Personalized learning paths, constructive AI feedback on portfolio work, practice environments where people run real design tasks and get feedback. You'll also help us improve the user flows on our own platform, so that learning at IxDF is as well designed as what we teach. You'll work on this with our founders, designers, and dev team.

  • Make an impact as you pressure-test the courses our Education Designers plan. An Education Designer sends you a course outline, and you read it against everything you know about the field and about how people learn design, then give constructive feedback on what's missing, what doesn't belong, and where the structure can be improved. You know the limits of your own expertise, and you research your way past them before you weigh in. You'll also plan, structure, and create courses yourself, alongside them.

  • You're one of the people whose judgment the rest of the team leans on. You show our Education Designers what ten or twenty years in the field taught you to look for. In return, our Co-Founder, your Team Lead, and our other Course Directors give constructive feedback on the courses you lead. You'll work in a diverse, highly organized, result-driven environment where you'll grow personally and professionally.

  • Act as guardian of our quality bar. When a course goes out under our name, it has to be better than anything else available on the topic. On the courses and Master Classes you lead or review, you're the one who spots what's not good enough yet and works with the team to fix it.

  • Bring your subject matter expertise to our writers, community managers, and social media team, so our design thinking stays consistent across everything we publish.

Once the session is recorded, you get the footage and the transcript, and you decide with the Education Designers and Team Lead which existing course benefits from which snippets, and where they go.

  • Focus on what matters as you take raw expert video material, course and Master Class transcripts and footage featuring global industry leaders, and turn it into educational material that teaches new skills in AI and in timeless human-centered design. You'll work across UX design, human-computer interaction, design thinking, UI design, psychology, and AI.

  • Design for a diverse, global audience. Some of our courses and Master Classes serve working designers who want to grow into more senior work. Others serve people moving into design from other fields. Often, a course will serve both in the same lesson. Getting both right without watering either down is a rewarding design challenge.

  • Give the video team constructive feedback on course and Master Class videos, from on-screen text and b-roll to graphics and animation, so each video is engaging to learn from and accurate from a design perspective.

  • Fly out and meet the global industry leaders in design in professional studios across the world. You'll shoot the course content there with some of your colleagues. Expect this a few times a year at minimum. Some of us love that part and join every studio production; others keep it to those few trips. Both work for us. On average we shoot 4-6 new courses per year.

  • Expect to have several courses moving at once at different stages: one you're planning with an expert, one being shot, one in production, and one published course that you're reviewing and improving.

  • We're proud to have assembled a remarkable team of unicorns who uplift, motivate, and push each other to excel daily. There's a seat open for someone who shares our passion for excellence. Could that be you?

About You

  • You have at least 10 years of hands-on design experience. Thirty is not too many.

  • You have a network among designers you respect, and you're comfortable writing to someone you admire and presenting them with an opportunity.

  • You know what the design community wants to see, and what it needs to learn.

  • You're kind, and you have the social intelligence and empathy to engage well with very different kinds of people. Much of this job is convincing busy, accomplished people that what we're building is worth their time.

  • You can show us something you built or led: a product, a design team, a course, an AI teaching app, or a conference track. We're excited to hear what it was, your thinking behind it, how long it took you to create, what went wrong, and how you improved it.

  • You can take a broad, complex design practice and turn it into a step-by-step learning sequence that'll make a beginner feel and act confident. You can look at a plan for teaching something and see what's missing before anyone builds it.

  • You're a practical idealist. You know how to create great results through incremental quick wins and MVPs, and you know when to go all in and make something perfect.

  • You’re a forward thinker who isn’t afraid to innovate and try new things before others have.

  • You collaborate with AI in everything you do. You use AI to research, structure, write, and create faster, and you know how to take human leadership, so the outcome is 100% yours and better than you could have created without AI.

  • You’re eager to help people build UX and UI skills because you know they’re more relevant than ever in the age of AI.

  • You can teach a career changer the powerful skills of great design, and you can guide an experienced designer in upskilling. Perhaps you've mentored people, or you’ve run your own company helping clients level up.

  • You give constructive feedback people can act on, and you can tell a talented colleague how they can improve their work without them becoming defensive.

  • You're genuinely curious about how AI is changing design work and design education.

  • You value teamwork, prioritize collaboration, and focus on collective goals and harmony in the workplace.

  • You're self-motivated, and you love creative freedom, independent judgment, and the responsibility that comes with both.

  • You’re driven by the desire to make a positive impact in the world and to improve the lives of others.

  • If you still love designing in Figma and building interfaces with AI, there's room for that here. Some of our Course Directors design hands-on; others have moved fully into direction. Both work for us.

  • Most of the work happens from your home office, but you're willing to travel a few times a year to shoot courses.

  • You're located in a time zone between UTC-6 (Austin, Chicago) and UTC+8 (Singapore, Perth), which includes all of Europe.

Bonus Points

None of these are required, but each of them would make us even happier.

  • You've led a design team.

  • You publish your own thinking on design: articles, a book, educational material, a blog, or a social media presence.

  • You've spoken at design conferences, or you're on a first-name basis with people who do.

  • You've created design systems. Organizing complex material so other people can put it to use is a lot of what you'll be doing.

  • You've worked as an editor, or you've created online courses.

  • You have the graphic design skills to create image-based and interactive content for courses, articles, and social media.

  • You've built AI-supported learning tools yourself, or you've used AI to build products.

  • You hold a bachelor's or master's degree in UX, UI, HCI, AI, or a similar field.

  • You’ve collaborated with video production teams.

What We Can Offer

  • A highly valued role: You'll shape our core product, our courses and Master Classes.

  • Reach and impact that are difficult to find anywhere else in this field. A design leader might shape the work of thirty people on their team. Your decisions about what we teach will reach hundreds of thousands. They'll build better careers and design a better world for all of us.

  • Access: the designers you'd normally see on a conference stage are the people you'll email, plan with, and sit across from in a studio. Our name opens doors. An email from IxDF gets read, so the reach you have now is the floor, not the ceiling.

  • Autonomy: Nobody will ever hand you a template and tell you to fill it in.

Video-based collaboration with your colleagues from elsewhere on the planet, and we get together in person each year, on a team trip or for a studio production.

  • Colleagues with four to forty years of experience, and a culture where we follow the best idea, not the longest résumé.

Position Summary

As a Senior Product Manager for Delinea Platform Shared Services, you will play a pivotal role in defining and executing the strategic vision for the foundational services that power every product on the Delinea Platform. You will own the platform's shared services portfolio — including the policy service, workflow orchestration and approval services, inbox, and notifications — capabilities that every product team builds on and every customer touches daily. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of platform product management, workflow and policy-driven systems, and has a proven track record of successfully launching and scaling shared services in a multi-tenant SaaS environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and communicate a compelling vision and strategy for the platform's shared services — policy, workflow (including the approval service), inbox, and notifications — aligning it with overall company goals.

  • Collaborate with customers as well as external and internal stakeholders to understand end-user needs and validate product requirements for policy authoring, approval workflows, and notification experiences.

  • Collaborate with internal business unit product teams: gather their requirements, understand their roadmaps, and design shared services that are easy to adopt, extend, and build upon.

  • Drive the development of a robust, flexible policy framework that enables consistent, auditable policy definition and enforcement across the platform.

  • Own the workflow and approval service roadmap, delivering orchestration capabilities that support complex, multi-step approval chains, delegation, escalation, and audit requirements.

  • Define and evolve the platform inbox and notification services to deliver timely, actionable, and well-governed communications across channels, with sensible defaults and user-level control.

  • Champion API-first, self-service design, and establish adoption metrics to measure success.

  • Stay up to date on industry trends and emerging technologies — including policy-as-code, workflow orchestration patterns, and event-driven architectures — to inform the product roadmap.

  • Work closely with engineering, design, architecture, and other cross-functional teams to define, prioritize, and deliver features.

Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or similar preferred.

  • 5+ years of proven experience in product management, with a focus on platform services, shared/foundational capabilities, or related areas.

  • Solid understanding of platform product management principles: multi-tenancy, API-first design.

  • Experience with one or more of the shared-service domains primarily policy engines, policy-as-code and workflow orchestration systems.

  • Familiarity with security, compliance, and audit requirements for enterprise workflows and approvals (e.g., separation of duties, audit trails).

  • Track record of successfully bringing platform capabilities to market and driving their adoption across multiple product teams.

  • Working knowledge of public cloud computing (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and event-driven, microservices-based architectures.

  • Experience in identity security, PAM, or the broader cybersecurity space is a huge plus.

  • Pragmatic Marketing/Scrum Product Owner certifications are a plus.

  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills, and a curious attitude with a desire to collaborate with a team of first-rate engineers, designers, and other Product Managers.

Travel Expectation: Up to 25%

Why work at Delinea?

  • We're passionate problem-solvers helping the world's largest organizations protect what matters most: their human and machine identities.

  • We invest in people who are smart, self-motivated, and collaborative.

  • What we offer in return is meaningful work, a culture of innovation and great career progression.

    Sr Software Engineer B E
    • Rebuy, Inc.
    • Remote
    senior backend php go

    The Company You’ll Join

At Rebuy, we’re on a mission to revolutionize shopping with intelligent, personalized experiences that wow customers around the globe. As a fully remote team, we power some of the fastest-growing DTC brands like Aviator Nation, Liquid Death, Magic Spoon, Blenders, Laird Superfoods, Primal Kitchen, and many more.

We believe in ownership, drive, and empathy, and strongly uphold that every team member plays a vital role in shaping the future of intelligent commerce. Our culture thrives on collaboration, creativity, and genuine passion. We don’t just build great tech - we build lasting partnerships, a strong community, and a place where people love to work.

    The Problems You’ll Solve

Rebuy and its team members continually strive to create a high-spirited, intentional work environment that stresses performance, productivity, collaboration, and merit.

As a Sr. Software Engineer, Back-End, you’ll own some of the most consequential systems at Rebuy. Your primary anchor is our billing and payments infrastructure — the engine that determines how merchants are charged, how partners get paid, and how financial balances flow across our entire product suite. This is genuinely complex financial engineering. It requires deep PHP and Go expertise, careful architecture, and judgment that no automated tool can replicate. Merchant billing runs daily, touches real revenue, and demands someone who understands both the technical and business dimensions of every decision.

Alongside billing, you’ll grow into a broader platform portfolio — the partner portal, data ETL pipelines, customer-facing APIs, and reporting infrastructure that power the business. And in the near term, you’ll play a critical role in a significant technical migration: moving our legacy Code Igniter 2 codebase to Code Igniter 4, including work tied to increasing our enterprise market share. This migration requires hands-on PHP expertise and cannot be deferred.

You won’t be handed a sprawling list of things you must do on day one. You’ll be trusted to grow into this role — and rewarded when you do.

    • Billing & Payments Architecture: Design and build Rebuy’s centralized billing system that handles merchant billing, partner payments, and customer-facing charges. Architect the integration layer that allows payment balances to be applied across Rebuy’s full suite of services. Tackle genuinely complex financial engineering challenges with PHP and Go at scale.

    • Build Robust APIs: Design and implement secure, well-structured APIs in PHP and Go to power billing events, payment processing, and financial data flows across our platform and Shopify integrations.

    • Legacy Modernization: Lead and contribute to the migration of our Code Igniter 2 codebase to Code Igniter 4. This is high-priority, near-term work with real business dependencies — including enterprise partnership commitments — and requires a PHP engineer with the experience and judgment to do it right.

    • Agentify the Platform: Partner with product and engineering to identify where AI agents can automate workflows, surface insights, and guide merchants through our product. Build the backend systems — APIs, data pipelines, and event hooks — that enable intelligent automation. This is genuinely new territory and one of the most exciting growth vectors for Rebuy’s product.

    • Platform Breadth: Our team owns more than billing and payments — we also support a partner portal, data ETL pipelines, customer-facing reporting APIs, and the infrastructure that makes data flow reliably across the business. You won’t be responsible for all of it on day one, but you’ll have genuine opportunities to grow into the areas that most interest you. Engineers here don’t get siloed; they get context.

    • Engineering Best Practices: Contribute significantly to the engineering culture at Rebuy by establishing, documenting, and promoting best practices. Lead initiatives to introduce and standardize frameworks and tools that increase development efficiency and maintainability.

    • Security & Compliance: Stay current with the latest security trends, vulnerabilities, and best practices as they apply to billing and payment systems. Champion security-first engineering across authentication, authorization, data encryption, and compliance considerations in everything you build.

    • PHP Technical Leadership: Serve as a key technical anchor for PHP across the engineering organization. Rebuy’s codebase has significant PHP depth and relatively few engineers with that expertise. You’ll lead code reviews, share knowledge actively, and help raise the PHP competency of the broader team.

    • Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks on deliverables to ensure code, setup, and configurations meet expected results. Ensure that all features meet high standards of quality and performance before deployment.

    • Team Collaboration: Engage actively in building a strong team culture. Work closely with the Product Owner, Engineering Manager, and peers across billing, payments, partner tools, and data infrastructure to define requirements, estimate effort, and drive solutions forward. This is a team where your voice matters — you won’t just be handed tickets. Assist the Support team in triaging and resolving high-priority production issues.

    Technologies We Use:

    • AI: Anthropic Enterprise Claude Code / Co-work, Cursor, Adhoc AI tools budget.

    • Frontend Technologies: React, TypeScript, GraphQL, VueJS, Angular

    • Backend technologies: PHP, GO, MySQL, BigTable, Elasticsearch

    • Other Tools: Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, Google Suite, Slack, One Password, Notion

    Who You Are

We’re stoked to meet you and get to learn more about you, your experience and your interest in joining our team.

    The Hard Skills:

    • Experience building or maintaining billing, payments, or financial systems — including working with payment processors, subscription engines, invoicing pipelines, or similar financial infrastructure in a production SaaS environment.

    • Educational background in CS // Engineering or a similar area.

    • 5+ years of hands-on experience building backend applications with PHP and Go, with a proven track record of delivering complex, high-traffic systems.

    • Experience designing and implementing secure, scalable, and maintainable RESTful APIs in PHP and Go, with a deep understanding of API design patterns, versioning, and performance optimization.

    • Experience with cloud-based technologies, preferably GCP.

    • Strong understanding of a performant SaaS environment.

    • Experience in a Scrum/Agile environment.

    • Experience with the Atlassian suite, including Jira and Bitbucket.

    • Solid understanding of security fundamentals as they apply to backend and financial systems — including secure coding practices, authentication/authorization patterns, data encryption, and awareness of current vulnerability trends (e.g. OWASP Top 10)

    The Soft Skills:

    • A collaborative mindset and work approach with the ability to lead projects and mentor others.

    • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a high level of autonomy and responsibilities.

    • Excellent communication skills, especially being able to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

    • Genuinely curious about the intersection of engineering and business. You care about the downstream impact of what you build — not just that the code works, but that it moves the company forward.

    Who You’ll Meet With

Now let’s get into who you’ll meet during our interview process! After you submit your application and it’s been reviewed by our team, we will reach out to you inviting you to meet with us. From there, you can expect an interview process similar to this:

    • An introductory call with someone from the Talent Acquisition team for about 30 min.

    • Interview with the Hiring Manager to learn more about you and answer your questions about Rebuy and this role

    • A coding challenge and white boarding exercise to show us your skillset during a live panel interview with a few team members.

    • Short final interview with our CEO and COO where you’ll get to learn more about Rebuy.

    The Perks You’ll Enjoy

Rebuy is a fully remote company across the U.S. and Canada that aims to provide all of our team with the resources, support and flexibility they need to thrive in their roles.
