Qualifications and requirements

As a small, growing marketing technology startup, our codebase has many facets, ranging from performance-optimized code to API integrations, web crawling and UI development. No two days will be the same, and you will be required to wear many hats.

The ideal candidate will:

• Be a senior, product-minded Rails generalist — you understand that the why of what we build supersedes the how. You care about user experience, business impact, and pragmatic engineering.

Job functions

Our applications are architected using Ruby on Rails (Turbo/Hotwire/Stimulus/Minitest), Postgres, Redis and are deployed on Google Cloud.

Your work will be varied and range from small UI bugfixes through to complex feature/application development. You will interact with the founders daily and will be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.

In this role, you will work across our entire stack to build and refine:

• Affiliate tracking, conversion attribution, and flexible commissioning systems that power offers, referrals, and partner earnings.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English (spoken and written)

What you'll do

System Architecture & Technical Alignment

Design and implement services and features within established architectural patterns, contributing to technical designs and implementation plans while collaborating with senior engineers on broader system impact. Evaluate approaches and trade-offs to support consistency, scalability, reliability, security, privacy, and compliance across the platform.

Software Development & Delivery

Develop, test, and deploy production-ready software with appropriate automated testing. Balance delivery speed with system stability and maintainability, applying sound judgment when refactoring existing systems or implementing pragmatic fixes. Document technical decisions, communicate trade-offs clearly, participate in code reviews, and follow established engineering standards and best practices.

Operational Ownership & Risk Management

Position Overview

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Mechanical Service Person will be responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems.

What You'll Do

• Build up line production benches, set up feed rails, airlines, leadtec terminals.
• Assist the mechanics on setting up sewing machines for the lines. Add extension tables, boxes, electric power boxes, connect leadtec terminals.
• Help moving machines according to new layout.
• Set up tape in the floor to mark walking corridors and exit routes.
• Install signage, KPI boards, first aid and needle policy cabinets.
• Change defective light bulbs in the sewing floor.
• Help moving WIP if required. Assist the downfill room bringing bags of down from warehouse.
• Respond to production maintenance requests by supervisors, the In-House Production Manager and/or Plant Manager in a timely manner
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
• Lubricate and clean machinery, equipment and tools
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
• Maintain adequate parts, supplies and equipment for the production and maintenance departments
• Perform all other duties as assigned or needed
• Support any growth projects lead by the Special Projects Manager

About The Role

You'll be our first Head of Security. There's already a real foundation here—bug bounty, pen tests, automated code and configuration scanning on the production and code side, phishing simulations on the people side. You’ll add to it across access and identity, SecOps and monitoring, incident response, vendor security, employee security practices, and policy. You'll own the whole posture.

This is a player-coach role. Early on, you'll do the scoping and the hands-on work yourself; this is not a role where you direct from above. As the work demands it, we're fully prepared to build a team here—and we're looking to you to define what that team should be and when.

You'll report to the VP of Engineering, Tremendous' most senior technical leader. We've deliberately placed security with Engineering so you're set up to drive real implementation fast—embedded with the people whose work you're securing, not siloed in a compliance function. As the security function matures, we'll revisit this.

What You'll Do

• Own Tremendous' security posture end-to-end, partnering with our engineering team on production infrastructure and code security.
• Assess where we have gaps, prioritize them, and tackle our highest-leverage gaps first. We’ll have opinions, but you own the prioritization and implementation.
• Treat incident response as core, not afterthought. We may not be able to prevent a breach, but your job is making sure it's small, contained, and that we know exactly what to do.
• Drive security as a cultural shift across the company—introducing controls incrementally, working with teams rather than over them. "Yes, and," not "no."
• Lead our AI-security posture. We invest heavily in AI tooling; your job is to manage that risk and enable it, not to ban it.
• Define when and how to staff up the security function, and hire your own team.
  
  

What You'll Bring

• Real, hands-on security experience at a company that scaled—ideally as an early security hire who grew with the business through high growth.
• Deep experience in at least one core security domain—product/production security, security operations, or access/identity and policy—with enough range to reason across the others. You defined the security posture, not just executed someone else’s playbook.
• An engineer's mindset. You reach for code to solve problems and can read our codebase and understand our infrastructure (Ruby on Rails; TypeScript + React; PostgreSQL; Google Cloud). You won't write much day-to-day, but you're not lost in the code.
• Judgment over checklists. You can explain the actual risk of a given decision, hold a firm line where it matters, and give ground where "best practice" doesn't apply to us or real business need pulls the other way. You can hold your own in a debate about whether to open up broad data access for AI tooling.
• Bedside manner. You drive hard change by bringing the team around to your point of view, rather than just telling them no. Engineers and the rest of the company want to work with you.
• Experience building or co-building a small security team is a plus.
• Fintech, payments, or regulated-industry experience is a plus.

KIRA is building a AI Finance Superapp for Southeast Asia across payments, remittance, insurance, wealth, and trading.

These products move real money. Reliability, regulatory requirements, and third-party financial rails are fundamental to the product - not considerations around the edges.

The Technical Product Lead owns a product vertical end-to-end, from strategy and outcomes through technical design, delivery, and launch.

We are AI-native by default, but AI is a means, not the goal. The bar is knowing where AI genuinely improves an outcome, where deterministic systems must remain in control, and how to build products that are reliable, auditable, and trusted.

What You'll Own

• Owning a product vertical end-to-end, including strategy, metrics, roadmap, priorities and delivery.

• Shaping technical design with engineering across APIs, data flows, ledgering, reconciliation, failure handling, security and scalability.

• Driving trade-offs across correctness, speed, cost, reliability, regulatory requirements and user experience.

• Building regulatory requirements into the product across KYC, transaction monitoring, limits, privacy and licensing.
