About the role

At first glance, Office Hours looks simple: search, match, connect, and pay. Under the hood, the system is anything but.

We’re building and evolving a deeply interconnected platform spanning search, discovery, recommendations, data pipelines, logistics, payments, compliance, and performance. The entire stack has been built in-house, from expert profiles and discovery experiences to workflow automation and an underlying knowledge graph that ties everything together.

We’re looking for a Staff Full Stack Software Engineer who enjoys working across the stack, takes ownership of complex problems, and cares deeply about building thoughtful, high-quality product experiences. This is a hands-on role with real influence over product direction, technical architecture, and how we ship software.

What you’ll do

• Own the design, implementation, and rollout of meaningful user-facing features, from problem definition through production

• Partner closely with design, product, and client-facing teams to translate real user needs into shipped solutions

• Architect, build, and evolve scalable, reliable systems across the front end, back end, and infrastructure

• Set a high bar for code quality through clear implementations, thoughtful tradeoffs, and active participation in reviews and technical discussions

• Explore and integrate modern tools, including AI-powered workflows, and share learnings that improve how the team builds and ships

What you bring

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with meaningful time spent working across the stack

• A track record of shipping high-quality, user-facing products in production environments

• Strong product intuition and the ability to translate ambiguous user or business problems into technical solutions

• Comfort operating in fast-moving environments where priorities evolve and ownership matters

• A bias toward action, paired with sound judgment and attention to detail

Pay Transparency Notice

Full-time offers include base salary, equity, and benefits.

Pay range: $225,000- $250,000 based on seniority and relevant experience

*This role can be 100% remote, but we do have offices in San Francisco and NYC

Flex is building a finance super app for premium business owners — reimagining every single aspect of the financial workflow and financial services for any entrepreneur. The company has grown revenue 25x+ since publicly launching in September 2023 and is on track to achieve profitability by late 2025. Flex is focused on mid-market businesses ($3 - $100M revenue) that are largely overlooked by existing fintech solutions and reliant on slow and outdated regional banks.  We are targeting a ~$1T revenue opportunity that is largely up for grabs.

Flex is a fully remote company and this role can be performed from anywhere.

The Role

We are looking for product owners who are excited to be part of our early story and help us build a category leading company. You will learn quickly, reflect on "the way the world should work", own outcomes, and drive the creation of financial products and experiences to help our customers reach their full potential. You should have a strong sense of ownership and enjoy taking projects from inception to release. As an early employee, you’ll be working with a nimble team of committed and talented employees and having a large, long-term impact on Flex products and culture.

• Develop and own full end to end suite of payment rails, systems, and customer facing experiences across products.
• Drive the enhancement of financial services and products, including mobile apps, online account management tools, and virtual payment solutions. Continuously improve the user experience and add features to meet changing customer needs.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities within the organization's operational processes. Develop internal financial solutions, such as automated reporting tools, data analytics platforms, and workflow optimization systems, to increase efficiency and streamline operations.
• Work closely with compliance and legal to ensure that all products adhere to relevant financial regulations and industry standards. Mitigate potential risks through robust product design and implementation. Stay up-to-date with changes in industry regulations and security protocols.
• Conduct user research and market analysis to understand customer preferences, pain points, and emerging trends. Utilize these insights to inform product development decisions.
• Partner with engineering throughout the development lifecycle. Provide clear and detailed product requirements, prioritize features, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality solutions. Implement necessary measures to safeguard customer data and ensure compliance with relevant laws.
• Utilize data analytics and performance metrics to assess product performance, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions to optimize products.
• Work closely with customer support teams to address customer inquiries, feedback, and issues related to products. Continuously strive to improve customer satisfaction and retention.
• Develop and communicate a clear product roadmap and strategy. Align the product vision with the Flex's overall objectives.

• Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role at a startup with a focus on financial products. We bring SaaS platform principles to traditional FinTech.
• A background in payments, stablecoins, forms of money movement, banking, etc. strongly considered, but not required.
• Solid knowledge of credit risk assessment, lending processes, and banking operations a nice to have.
• Familiarity with compliance standards, regulations, and security protocols relevant to the credit and banking sectors a nice to have. Willingness to become an expert is a must.
• Excellent communication, translation, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and market insights to inform product decisions.
• Proficiency in using product management tools and platforms to manage the product backlog and track progress.
• Passion for innovation, customer-centricity, and continuous improvement in product development.
