About the Role
This is a long-term, strategic role, not a short sprint. You'll be embedded in a collaborative engineering and analytics team, working across the full data lifecycle: ingestion, transformation, modelling, and surfacing insights through Looker. You'll work closely with stakeholders across commercial, product, and marketing to ensure data is reliable, scalable, and meaningful.

Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines that move data from source systems into Google BigQuery, ensuring reliability, scalability, and observability at every stage.
  • Develop and enforce data models and schema standards using best-practice SQL and dimensional modelling principles, with a focus on clarity, reuse, and performance.
  • Own the Google BigQuery environment, optimising queries, managing costs, enforcing data governance, and ensuring the platform scales alongside the business.
  • Build and maintain Looker explores, LookML models, and dashboards that translate complex datasets into clear, actionable business intelligence for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Work across the full Google Cloud Platform stack, including Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, and Composer, to architect end-to-end data solutions.
  • Partner with analytics, engineering, and commercial teams to understand data requirements and translate business problems into scalable technical solutions.
  • Champion data quality and testing frameworks, implementing monitoring and alerting so that issues are caught early and resolved quickly.
  • Contribute to documentation, coding standards, and architectural decision records so the team can move fast with confidence.
  • Mentor junior data team members and set the bar for engineering rigour across the data function.
  • Stay current with developments in the modern data stack and proactively recommend tooling or process improvements where appropriate.


Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in SQL and data modelling, with strong command of dimensional modelling, star schemas, and performance optimisation.
  • 3+ years working with Google BigQuery in a production environment.
  • 3+ years hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, Composer).
  • 3+ years building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines at scale.
  • 1+ year working with Looker and LookML to deliver business-facing dashboards and data products.
  • Demonstrable experience leading at least one data project end-to-end, from scoping through to delivery.

We are seeking an SDE-3 Backend Builder to own the CRM Opportunities product end-to-end. Opportunities is the deal and pipeline engine at the heart of our CRM — the system of record for every revenue motion our customers run, from lead conversion to closed-won.

Your Role

We are looking for a Mid/Senior AI Cinematic Video Editor who is deeply embedded in generative video workflows and can independently craft high-quality, narrative-driven content from concept to final output.

You are a sharp-eyed video editor comfortable operating at the intersection of creativity and emerging technology, building visually compelling longform videos using AI-first pipelines. You take ownership of the entire production stack — from prompting and generation to editing, compositing, graphic design work and final delivery. Reporting to your Content Lead, this is what you'll be doing:


Key Responsibilities

  • Conceptualise scripts based on current production needs and centred around existing AI characters (our own IPs)

  • Create narrative-driven, longform video content, including stylized and explicit NSFW visuals, with a strong focus on storytelling, atmosphere, and visual coherence throughout

  • Own and manage end-to-end AI video production workflows, from ideation and prompting to generation, editing, and post-production

Clinical trials generate enormous volumes of data – and the integrity of that data is what makes research meaningful. Every data point entered accurately and on time moves a study closer to the answers that matter: for sponsors, for science, and ultimately for patients.  

 

The Data Entry Coordinator exists to ensure that data integrity never becomes a bottleneck. Working remotely and in close partnership with on-site clinical research staff, this role is the behind-the-scenes engine that keeps data flowing cleanly across studies. From entering source documents into Electronic Data Capture (EDC) systems to resolving queries and supporting database lock activities, the Data Entry Coordinator holds a critical thread in Profound’s research operations â€“ one that directly enables high-quality, audit-ready trial data across our growing network of sites.  

 

What You’ll Do 

 

  • Enter clinical trial data into EDC systems accurately and on time, in accordance with study protocols and sponsor requirements – turnaround time and accuracy are the benchmarks that matter most in this role 

  • Review source documents for completeness and accuracy prior to entry 

  • Perform routine data quality checks; identify and resolve discrepancies and data queries promptly to keep studies on track 

  • Partner with Clinical Research Coordinators (CRCs) and investigators to clarify missing or inconsistent data, and assist with query resolution from sponsors, monitors, and data management teams

Our focus includes policies with implications for young people’s well-being that may go beyond policy directly focusing on mental health, including assessing our role at the state and federal levels.

Responsibilities

Core Data Infrastructure & Scalability

  • Own and optimize Valon’s core data infrastructure for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency as data volume and complexity grow.

  • Design and extend multi-tenant data architectures to support a scalable SaaS model.

  • Evaluate and improve warehouse design, data models, and schema strategies to minimize redundancy and maximize query performance.

  • Lead and execute infrastructure migrations with minimal downtime and high data integrity.

  • Build and maintain custom ingestion pipelines for data sources not covered by ELT vendors.

Observability, Performance & Maintenance

  • Build or integrate observability tooling for pipeline health, latency, data freshness, drift detection, and schema change monitoring.

  • Optimize data transformation jobs for speed and cost efficiency, identifying performance bottlenecks and refactoring as needed.

  • Establish and run routine maintenance processes to ensure data quality, stability, and platform consistency.

  • Drive a culture of data reliability engineering by codifying best practices, automation, and operational excellence.

Strategic Leadership & Enablement

  • Define and communicate the long-term data infrastructure roadmap, aligning technical evolution with Valon’s business growth.

    • Think strategically: What does our infrastructure need to look like at 10x or 100x scale?

  • Partner closely with the analytics team to enable faster insights through better tooling, performance, and documentation.

  • Act as a force multiplier for the broader data team - mentoring on best practices and improving development velocity across pipelines and models.

Cross-Functional Execution

  • Collaborate with platform and product teams to design systems that meet business, operational, and regulatory requirements.

  • Occasionally take on complex, non-infrastructure data projects, such as data products or analytical initiatives, to stay close to end-user needs and maintain empathy with analysts.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of data engineering experience successfully creating/optimizing/scaling data stacks and supporting data teams, at least 2 years in an early- to mid-stage startup

  • Deep knowledge and experience deploying and optimizing dbt or comparable tooling

  • Experience managing multiple types of data management systems (data warehouses, data marts, data lakes)

  • Experience building/procuring tools and processes to monitor end-to-end data stack health

  • Mastery of SQL from both functionality and performance perspective

  • Fluency in writing scripts in Python or a similar language

  • Experience working with and tuning cloud data warehouses and compute environments. Experience with BigQuery/GCP a plus

  • Experience optimizing BI tool performance and managing permissions, Looker experience a plus

  • Experience managing/tuning EL connector solutions (such as Fivetran, Stitch, etc.) and building custom ingestion pipelines

  • Strong prioritization skills, effort vs. impact thinking, stakeholder management

  • Ability to reason about factors/interactions/root causes outcomes across the data stack, able to back up arguments/decisions with data

  • Deep understanding of data team workstreams and needs, ideally in the form of past experience as a data analyst/data scientist

As a Tech Lead, you will bring deep technical expertise to help steer the Engineering team's technical direction, reinforcing our culture of iterative, autonomous development and deployment. Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders and the development team to design, build, and implement scalable, user-friendly apps and libraries using Node, React, and Typescript.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to examine, adjust, and break down roadmap items into epics and break down epics into discreet, actionable, appropriately sized tickets in the team’s backlog.
  • Provide a technical perspective on organizational objectives within the team’s scope of activities. Analyze requirements, identify areas of concern, and provide recommendations based on your extensive technical background.
  • Using POC models provided by Staff Developers, design and implement systems and infrastructure in accordance with the team’s vision and culture.
  • Adhere to the organization’s security strategy using a security-first mindset.
  • Discuss various strategies and architecture and highlight tradeoffs for potential solutions.
  • Perform code reviews, ensuring that pull requests accurately reflect the acceptance criteria of the tickets they address.
  • Use quality metrics to identify gaps in the testing strategy. 
  • Work with teams to recommend solutions that are in accordance with accepted testing frameworks.
  • Manage and optimize the integration of third-party systems into our infrastructure while ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of these systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify integration needs, implement solutions, and monitor system performance to guarantee uninterrupted service delivery.
  • Define and prioritize areas of technical debt and bugs, taking into consideration outcomes of the incident management process and addressing them with the team.
  • Foster a culture of iterative deployability with awareness of cycle time and failure rates.
  • Coach and mentor the development team and work to expand their technical knowledge and skills.
  • Use a systematic approach to debugging to diagnose issues within the application.
  • Write unit tests as well as higher-level tests to ensure application quality and stability.
  • Consistently produce production-ready code that is easily testable, easily understandable, and accounts for edge cases and errors, using comments and other documentation strategies where appropriate.
  • Follow Agile practices, suggest improvements, and participate in team events.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the company’s goals and initiatives and help the engineering team deliver on those goals/initiatives.
  • Ensure technical standards such as accessibility, performance, security, maintainability, functional correctness, operability and observability are observed in the modules developed and maintained by the team.

Requirements:
  • University degree or college diploma in a recognized technical, vocational or academic program or equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years of experience building rich, complex and scalable APIs, including integration with third party APIs.
  • 5+ years of building front-end web applications using modern Javascript frameworks.
  • 2+ experience in designing scalable and distributed systems.
  • Experience mentoring other developers.
  • Extensive full-stack experience working with React/Redux/Node/Typescript/PostgreSQL and Javascript.
  • Extensive experience with the Scrum framework and Agile methodologies.
  • Familiarity with DORA metrics to measure the DevOps Performance and experience in communicating what’s been measured with the team. 
  • Experience architecting and augmenting large software systems.
  • Experience with Javascript development toolings like WebPack, Babel, and Storybook.
  • Experience with Unit Testing frameworks like Jest/Mocha.
  • Experience building and/or working with micro-services and micro front-ends.

The salary range for this role is $150,000 to $170,000, not including the annual discretionary bonus and any additional performance-based incentives.
