What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer, Analytics, you will work closely with client success, product managers, clinicians, data scientists, and other software engineers to build infrastructure, frameworks, and tools to improve client analytics, facilitate clinical case reviews, and support product investigation. This role is crucial to provide internal visibility into product performance that will drive expansion of our clinical AI/ML module offerings and revenue growth.

Responsibilities

• Product performance monitoring and optimization: Partner with client success and clinical product subject matter experts to implement the infrastructure, queries, and automation to monitor the KPIs and success metrics of our products across multiple clinical domains and clients.

• Clinical case review and investigation: Build frameworks and tools to empower our clinical team to independently review and investigate clinical cases reported by our clients and identify cases with certain criteria that need further evaluation.

• Data platform and analytics technical foundations: Propose and implement foundational improvements and innovations to boost our data platform scalability with expanding products and clients and uplevel our team analytics capabilities.

• Drive product analytics development cross-functionally: Work closely with Client Success, Clinical, Product, Data Science, and Engineering to drive alignment on product analytics at the company level.

Minimum qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or other relevant technical discipline.

• 5+ years of experience in building scalable, secure analytics infrastructure and tools on a cloud platform (preferably AWS) to produce monitoring metrics and investigational data from complex data models and queries for live products and customers.

• Proficient in Python and SQL.

• Deep knowledge in modern data and analytics technologies, such as cloud-based data warehouses, transformation frameworks (e.g. dbt), workflow orchestration tools, and BI tools like Tableau or Quicksight, and keen ability to integrate with existing infrastructure to enhance capabilities.

• Experience working with sensitive data that contains PHI/PII.

• Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (data science, product, clinical) to translate requirements into robust technical solutions

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in leveraging LLMs in distributed data processing and analytics systems.

• Experience building analytics technology for clinical/health data.

• Experience handling ambiguity and uncertainty in a startup.

• 5+ years of data science and product analytics experience
• BS and/or MS in a quantitative discipline: statistics, operations research, computer science, engineering, applied mathematics, physics, economics, etc.
• Experience in designing trustworthy experimentation and analyzing complex product a/b testing results
• Expert in SQL, including complex joins, window functions, and performance-aware querying on large datasets
• Expert in Python or R programming, including common scientific computing packages and data science tools such as NumPy, Pandas, and Scikit-learn
• Strong applied statistics background, including hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, power analysis, and causal inference techniques
• Familiarity with modern analytics and BI tools like Looker, Tableau, Omni, Hex, Sigma, Eppo, StatSig, etc is a plus 
• A strong understanding of two-sided marketplace dynamics
• Experience in navigating eco-system effects is a plus
• Strong in proactive verbal and written communication and presentation skills, ability to convey rigorous statistical concepts to non-experts

In this role, you will research, develop, and apply machine learning tools to model and price climate and weather risk. You will work with diverse weather and geospatial datasets covering a suite of phenomena, from traditional weather-station readings of temperature and precipitation, to radar measurements of hail stone sizes, to satellite indices of vegetation content. You will learn how to use our existing catalog of pricing and modeling tools, engage in their improvement and maintenance, and develop new methodologies. We are open to a range of experience levels for this position.

About the Team

The analytics team is responsible for making sense of the terabytes of data Arbol has at its disposal. It forms the connective tissue between more client-facing teams, such as sales, and back-end roles like data engineering. You’ll be joining a small team of data scientists and researchers and will have a unique opportunity to impact many levels of the firm. This is an ideal position for someone interested in building machine learning systems while taking a deep dive into the insurance industry.

The Role

Position Description:

We're seeking a Product Data Analyst contractor to drive data-informed product decisions by improving our data democratization, analyzing data, generating insights, and generating reports. You'll partner closely with product, growth, enrollment marketing, and client implementation teams to understand user behavior, measure product performance, and identify opportunities for growth and improvement. 

• Use SQL to query data in Snowflake.
• Update Snowflake data models, consistent with current data architecture.

• Proficiency in version control systems like Git for managing code and collaborating with data and engineering teams

In 2011 SkySlope started as an idea born at the kitchen table of our CEO, with just him and two others. Headquartered in Sacramento, California, we have since grown out of our previous 3 offices and many of our close to 150 employees are spread all across the United States. About the role: We are looking for a Data Analyst III to join our team and to help elevate the way we leverage data across the organization. While this role includes traditional data retrieval and reporting, we're looking for someone who goes beyond fulfilling requests — someone who proactively identifies trends, surfaces insights, and brings forward recommendations that help teams make better decisions before they even know to ask. Experience or curiosity around AI-assisted analytics is a plus, but this is first and foremost a strong data analyst role.

• 5+ years of experience in a data analyst or similar role with progressive responsibility
• Advanced SQL proficiency across both MS SQL Server and MySQL, including complex joins, stored procedures, query optimization, and cross-database work
• Python proficiency for scripting, data manipulation, and automation (pandas, NumPy, or similar libraries)
• Experience with BI/visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar platforms
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and ETL/ELT processes
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders
• Self-directed mindset with a demonstrated history of going beyond ad-hoc requests to proactively surface insights and improve processes

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
