Job Summary
The Principal Data Engineer is the highest-performing contributor on our data engineering team - the person who sets the technical bar, owns the data platform end to end, and delivers work that others study. You'll define and execute data strategy at the engineering level, operating as the technical point of the spear for how the organization builds, scales, and trusts its data. You write production code. You design the architecture. You solve the problems that block everyone else. You mentor without being asked, influence without authority, and deliver without handholding. You're a force multiplier and you're hungry to shape not just the platform, but the broader data strategy of the business.
Microsoft Fabric is our data platform. This role is for someone genuinely energized by the Fabric ecosystem, who tracks its evolution closely and sees its breadth - Lakehouseâs, Event streams, Semantic models, Notebooks, Pipelines, Direct Lake as an opportunity, not a constraint. If you're looking for a role where your technical judgment shapes the trajectory of the entire data organization, this is exactly it.
What You'll Do...
- Design and implement dimensional models, star schemas, and snowflake schemas with rigor
- Build and maintain semantic models that serve as the single source of truth for business reporting
- Implement Slowly Changing Dimension (SCD) strategies appropriate to each domain
- Own master data engineering: golden record patterns, source-of-record authority, cross-system identity resolution
- Establish and enforce data modeling standards across the team
- Design and operate real-time and near-real-time pipelines using streaming technologies (Kafka, Confluent Cloud, Fabric Eventstreams) â and know when streaming is the right answer and when it isn't
- Relentlessly drive down data staleness in non-streaming scenarios through intelligent scheduling, incremental load optimization, and pipeline orchestration design
- Own performance tuning across the full stack â query optimization, partition strategy, indexing, Delta table compaction, semantic model refresh efficiency, and Direct Lake readiness
- Apply operational engineering discipline: pipeline observability, alerting, SLA definition, failure recovery, and capacity planning
- Design and implement controls appropriate for sensitive data (financials, PII, HIPAA, etc.)
ETL / ELT Pipeline Development
- Build robust, scalable, observable pipelines â watermark-based incremental loads, CDC patterns, batch and streaming architectures
- Ensure pipelines are idempotent, recoverable, and production-hardened
- Serve as the senior technical voice in code review â your approval carries weight
Report & Analytics Delivery
- Translate business requirements into semantic models and report-layer artifacts that non-technical users can trust and navigate
- Serve as the platform's primary technical interface across consumer groups: Power BI report builders needing trusted, well-modeled semantic layers; AI/ML developers needing governed, feature-ready data surfaces; application developers consuming data via SQL endpoints, REST APIs, or Direct Lake
- Define and enforce data contracts â schema stability, access patterns, SLAs â for each consumer class
- Own the developer experience of the platform: discoverability, documentation, and onboarding
Required
- Microsoft Fabric: Lakehouses, Notebooks, Dataflows Gen2, Event streams, Semantic Models, Direct Lake mode
- Power BI: report development, dataset/semantic model design, DAX proficiency
- SQL Server / Azure SQL/Postgres: query optimization, schema design, stored procedures
- Azure DevOps: Git-based development workflows, CI/CD for data pipelines
·       Demonstrated use of AI coding assistants in a production engineering workflow
·       Ability to critically evaluate, edit, and improve AI-generated code and artifacts
·       Clear understanding of where AI accelerates work and where it introduces risk
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with broader Azure Data Services (Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, ADLS Gen2, Event Hubs) as complementary tooling
- Experience in a private equity-backed or multi-entity portfolio company environment
- Exposure to MDM platforms (Profisee, Semarchy, Ataccama, or equivalent)
- Experience with Confluent Cloud / Apache Kafka for streaming ingestion into Fabric or Synapse
- Familiarity with cross-tenant Azure / Fabric architecture
- Background in business analysis, solutions architecture, or pre-sales engineering
- Microsoft Fabric or Azure Data Engineer certifications
- Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)
- Retirement Plan (401k)
- Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D)
- Paid Time Off
- Short Term & Long-Term Disability
- Training & Development
- Wellness Resources

cortex is owlette's ai fleet assistant â ask it the questions you ask yourself every day: "which nvidia driver are we running?", "restart the media server on node 3", "what crashed at 3am?" it translates natural language into real commands across your fleet. you bring your own api key (openai, anthropic, or any compatible provider).
roost is owlette's project sync. point it at a folder â a TouchDesigner project, a content drop, a build output â and it ships only the bytes that changed to every machine on the site, atomically: a machine gets the whole new version or stays on the old one, never a half-copied mess. every deploy is versioned, so you can roll back to any of the last 50 for up to 30 days. it's part of the pro tier and includes 1 TB of storage per site ($0.05/GB after that). no more zipping a folder and RDP-ing into ten machines at 2am.
agents connect over tls, credentials are encrypted on-device using a machine-bound key, and oauth tokens are never logged or stored in plaintext. access is managed through firebase auth with optional passkey and two-factor authentication.
yes â owlette is FSL-1.1-Apache-2.0 (converts to apache 2.0 two years after each release). the full source is on github. fair warning: it requires firebase, a railway (or equivalent) deployment for the web app, and a willingness to blow past your usage limits at 3am debugging support tickets from your neighbor's camper because your furnace broke and it's -10 outside. we won't talk you out of it, but the hosted version exists for a reason.

At Aftershoot, we're building a global community of photographers who spend less time behind their screens and more time behind the lens. Every feature we create, every update we ship, is designed to make post-processing easier, faster, and smarter for photographers around the world.
From culling to editing to retouching. Our AI tools do all the heavy lifting, so photographers can focus on what they do best: capturing moments, telling stories, and creating magic.
We're a fast-growing, passionate team backed by 100K+ active users globally. Double-digit ARR in less than 4 years, amazing investors and a team who truly believe in our mission.
Our mission is clear: Become the default companion for every photographer in the world. If you care deeply about building meaningful products, working with curious and driven teammates, and being part of a team that genuinely loves what they do, we'd love to meet you.
Let's create the future of AI in photography, together.
About the Role
This is a function-owner role, not an execution role.
Aftershoot already invests seven figures a year into creators, and creator-led content is one of the biggest drivers of how photographers discover us. What we don't yet have is someone who owns it end to end: who decides where the money goes, which creators earn a renewal, what the content should actually say, and how we prove any of it worked.
That's you. You'll set the strategy, own the budget, build the partner roster, and lead a small team of executives who handle day-to-day outreach and campaign management. Most of our creators are based in the US, so you'll be working across US time zones on a regular basis.
You'll come in with a clear mandate: make the same spend go three times further, or deliver the same results for meaningfully less. Both are good answers.
What You'll Do
⢠Own Aftershoot's global influencer and creator marketing strategy end to end, with the US as the primary market.
⢠Own the annual creator budget: allocate it, defend it, sunset what isn't working, and double down on what is.
⢠Build and maintain the partner roster across YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, spanning photography, creative-tools, and tech audiences.⢠Move the program from one-off sponsored posts toward recurring partnerships, ambassador structures, and long-term creator relationships.
⢠Build the measurement layer: attribution, incrementality, cost per trial and per paid conversion by creator, so renewal decisions are made on evidence rather than instinct.
⢠Negotiate rates, deliverables, exclusivity, and usage rights, including whitelisting so strong creator content can be repurposed into paid media.
⢠Get content actually shipped: briefing creators, holding them to timelines, and getting the work over the line when it slips.
⢠Hire, manage, and coach a team of 2â3 Influencer Marketing Executives.
⢠Work closely with Growth, Content, Product Marketing, and Design so creator content plugs into the wider marketing engine rather than running beside it.
⢠Plan and run creator activity around peak moments like Black Friday and major product launches.
⢠Explore adjacent channels where they make sense: affiliate, community, events, and podcast partnerships.
What You'll Bring
⢠5â8 years in influencer, creator, or partnerships marketing, at an agency or in-house, with at least 2 of those years setting strategy rather than only executing campaigns.
⢠Direct experience managing a meaningful creator budget, and the ability to walk us through how you spent it and what you got back.
⢠Experience working with US or international creators, and comfort operating across time zones.
⢠Excellent spoken and written English. Much of this job is video calls and negotiation with US-based creators, so you need to be clear, natural, and persuasive live.
⢠Real negotiation instincts. Paying a creator is the beginning of the relationship, not the end of it, and getting good work out of a partner takes persistence and charm in equal measure.
⢠Comfort with numbers: you can look at a campaign and form a point of view on whether it earned its keep.
⢠Working knowledge of creator tooling and affiliate platforms (GRIN, CreatorIQ, Modash, Upfluence, Aspire, Impact.com, PartnerStack, or similar).
⢠A bias toward action. We move fast, we test in the market rather than in slide decks, and we'd rather fix a live campaign than perfect a plan.
Nice to have, genuinely not required
⢠A background in photography, creative tools, or prosumer software.
⢠Experience in a consumer AI or global SaaS company.
⢠Experience building a creator program from zero.
We are not filtering for photography experience. If you've built creator programs in D2C, gaming, fintech, or anywhere else that scales, the playbook travels.
What You'll Gain
⢠Full ownership of a function from day one, with a seven-figure budget and no legacy playbook to inherit.
⢠Direct line to leadership and real influence over how Aftershoot grows.
⢠A global creator community in a category people are genuinely passionate about.
⢠The chance to build a team around you as the program scales.
What Happens After You Apply?
Phone Screen â If your profile looks like a fit, our People team will reach out for an intro call.
Team Interview â A deeper conversation on your experience and how you've run creator programs before.
Case Discussion â We'll share real context on our program a day ahead, then talk through how you'd approach it. No 20-slide deck required.
Bar-Raiser Interview â Meet our leadership team for a final evaluation.
Offer! â If it goes well, we'll extend a formal offer and welcome you on board.

- The Pace: We're building at a speed most companies talk about but never actually operate at. If you've been bored somewhere else, you won't be here.
- The Impact: Every person at Giga touches the work that matters. No layers, no waiting for approval chains. You'll see your fingerprints on what we ship.
- The Team: A team of operators defining the future of AI infrastructure. We recruit A-players from the most innovative companies in the world, and they choose Giga because the work here means more.
- The Moment: AI doesn't run without power, and that's us. Giga is the picks and shovels behind the AI revolution. This industry is about to explode, and you'll be in the room where it's already happening.
As Paralegal, youâll take full ownership of the NDA & intake process. Youâll drive NDAs to execution independently, without attorneys needing to be involved. Youâll maintain a centralized legal intake process â a single place where requests come in, get triaged, and get worked â and then hold the rest of the company accountable to using it. Youâll own the signature pipeline end to end: queuing documents, sending them out, and tracking them to completion. This is a highly autonomous role: youâll be given the outcome we need and trusted to enforce the process to get there, adapting as priorities shift.
This role starts as an individual contributor with real scope across every project at Giga, and thereâs a clear path to take on bigger, more complex work as you prove out the process.
Where youâll work
This role is remote. Travel is light â expect roughly 0â10%, mainly for occasional in-person team time.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end NDA process â draft, negotiate, and drive NDAs to execution independently, escalating to attorneys only on true edge cases.
- Design and own a centralized legal intake process, replacing todayâs scattered mix of personal email, Slack channels and DMs, and texts with a single, clear front door for legal requests.
- Triage incoming legal requests â route them appropriately and set expectations on turnaround.
- Enforce the intake process company-wide: when requests bypass it, redirect requesters back into the right workflow, including on Daveâs behalf.
- Manage the full signature pipeline â queue documents, send for e-signature, and track them to completion.
- Maintain and organize the contract repository so agreements are easy to find, track, and report on.
- Partner with attorneys and business teams to keep the legal function organized and responsive as request volume grows.
- Take on larger, higher-complexity projects as you build trust and track record in the role.
- 7+ years of experience as a paralegal or in a similar legal operations role.
- Experience independently managing NDAs from drafting through execution.
- Experience building, running, or significantly improving a legal intake or triage process.
- Working knowledge of e-signature tools, contract repositories, and contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight, exercising sound judgment on when to escalate to attorneys.
- Comfortable enforcing process consistently while staying flexible as priorities and workflows shift.
- Paralegal certificate.
- 10+ years of experience in a legal operations or paralegal role.
- Experience standing up legal intake or operations processes from scratch.
- Experience supporting legal teams at a high-growth or fast-paced company.
- Experience preparing legal notes or executive briefs.
- Subsidized health, dental, and vision insurance
- Equity (options) in a rapidly growing startup
- 401(k) with 4% employer match
- Unlimited PTO
- Parental leave
- Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA)
- Commuter benefits
- Monthly team on-sites where all offices come in-person to collaborate
We hire people who thrive in chaos and get sharper under pressure. You don't wait to be told what to do, you spot the gap and fill it. When there's work to be done, you do it. You make decisions with the information you have, move fast, and adjust along the way. We're not looking for perfect; we're looking for people who get things done.

The Company Youâll Join
At Rebuy, weâre on a mission to revolutionize shopping with intelligent, personalized experiences that wow customers around the globe. As a fully remote team, we power some of the fastest-growing DTC brands like Aviator Nation, Liquid Death, Magic Spoon, Blenders, Laird Superfoods, Primal Kitchen, and many more.
We believe in ownership, drive, and empathy, and strongly uphold that every team member plays a vital role in shaping the future of intelligent commerce. Our culture thrives on collaboration, creativity, and genuine passion. We donât just build great tech - we build lasting partnerships, a strong community, and a place where people love to work.
The Problems Youâll Solve
Rebuy and its team members continually strive to create a high-spirited, intentional work environment that stresses performance, productivity, collaboration, and merit.
As a Sr. Software Engineer, Back-End, youâll own some of the most consequential systems at Rebuy. Your primary anchor is our billing and payments infrastructure â the engine that determines how merchants are charged, how partners get paid, and how financial balances flow across our entire product suite. This is genuinely complex financial engineering. It requires deep PHP and Go expertise, careful architecture, and judgment that no automated tool can replicate. Merchant billing runs daily, touches real revenue, and demands someone who understands both the technical and business dimensions of every decision.
Alongside billing, youâll grow into a broader platform portfolio â the partner portal, data ETL pipelines, customer-facing APIs, and reporting infrastructure that power the business. And in the near term, youâll play a critical role in a significant technical migration: moving our legacy Code Igniter 2 codebase to Code Igniter 4, including work tied to increasing our enterprise market share. This migration requires hands-on PHP expertise and cannot be deferred.
You wonât be handed a sprawling list of things you must do on day one. Youâll be trusted to grow into this role â and rewarded when you do.
Billing & Payments Architecture: Design and build Rebuyâs centralized billing system that handles merchant billing, partner payments, and customer-facing charges. Architect the integration layer that allows payment balances to be applied across Rebuyâs full suite of services. Tackle genuinely complex financial engineering challenges with PHP and Go at scale.
Build Robust APIs: Design and implement secure, well-structured APIs in PHP and Go to power billing events, payment processing, and financial data flows across our platform and Shopify integrations.
Legacy Modernization: Lead and contribute to the migration of our Code Igniter 2 codebase to Code Igniter 4. This is high-priority, near-term work with real business dependencies â including enterprise partnership commitments â and requires a PHP engineer with the experience and judgment to do it right.
Agentify the Platform: Partner with product and engineering to identify where AI agents can automate workflows, surface insights, and guide merchants through our product. Build the backend systems â APIs, data pipelines, and event hooks â that enable intelligent automation. This is genuinely new territory and one of the most exciting growth vectors for Rebuyâs product.
Platform Breadth: Our team owns more than billing and payments â we also support a partner portal, data ETL pipelines, customer-facing reporting APIs, and the infrastructure that makes data flow reliably across the business. You wonât be responsible for all of it on day one, but youâll have genuine opportunities to grow into the areas that most interest you. Engineers here donât get siloed; they get context.
Engineering Best Practices: Contribute significantly to the engineering culture at Rebuy by establishing, documenting, and promoting best practices. Lead initiatives to introduce and standardize frameworks and tools that increase development efficiency and maintainability.
Security & Compliance: Stay current with the latest security trends, vulnerabilities, and best practices as they apply to billing and payment systems. Champion security-first engineering across authentication, authorization, data encryption, and compliance considerations in everything you build.
PHP Technical Leadership: Serve as a key technical anchor for PHP across the engineering organization. Rebuyâs codebase has significant PHP depth and relatively few engineers with that expertise. Youâll lead code reviews, share knowledge actively, and help raise the PHP competency of the broader team.
Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks on deliverables to ensure code, setup, and configurations meet expected results. Ensure that all features meet high standards of quality and performance before deployment.
Team Collaboration: Engage actively in building a strong team culture. Work closely with the Product Owner, Engineering Manager, and peers across billing, payments, partner tools, and data infrastructure to define requirements, estimate effort, and drive solutions forward. This is a team where your voice matters â you wonât just be handed tickets. Assist the Support team in triaging and resolving high-priority production issues.
